Daniel Rapant

Rapant, Daniel 

Born Apr. 17, 1897, in Holič, Slovakia. Slovak historian. Member of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

Rapant studied at the University of Prague and graduated from the Sorbonne in 1923. He was a professor in the philosophy department of Komensky Bratislava University from 1933 to 1958. Rapant specialized in the political history of Slovakia in the late 18th and 19th centuries. He is the author of a multi-volume series on the revolutionary events of 1848 and 1849 in Slovakia.
