Danilov 

a city, the administrative center of Danilov Raion. Yaroslavl Oblast, RSFSR. Located 69 km northeast of Yaroslavl. It is a railroad junction of lines to Bui, Yaroslavl, and Vologda. Population. 17.000 (1970). There are enterprises for railroad transport, a woodworking plant, a creamery, and a brickworks. The city produces furniture, sewn articles, and headwear. It is first mentioned in the late 1500’s as Danilov’s settlement (Danilova Sloboda). In 1777 the village of Danilov became a district town of the Yaroslavl vicegerency.
