Dahra

a settlement in northern Libya, in the administrative unit (muhafazat) of Misratah. In 1958–59 an oil deposit was discovered in the Dahra region. Since 1962 the oil has been transported to the port of Es’ Sider (on the Gulf of Sidra on the Mediterranean Sea) through an oil pipeline 136 km long.
