Dargue, Herbert (Arthur) (1886–1942) aviator; born in Brooklyn, N.Y. A 1911 West Point graduate, he developed a broad vision of the uses and importance of air power in the 1920s and 1930s. Dargue commanded the 1st Air Force at Mitchell Field, N.Y., at the time of his death.
