On the central western border of OH, northwest of Dayton; organized Jan 3, 1809 from Miami County. Name Origin: For Gen. William Darke (1736-1801), an officer in the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War.

    Mark Whitaker, a detective in the Darke County Sheriff's Department in Greenville, Ohio, said yesterday that the marker is still missing and Ms.
    SafeHaven also has a satellite site serving Darke County in Greenville.
