data cloud
(1) A collection of words that are displayed in a font size or different color (or both) that represent their value in relation to each other. For example, a data cloud of countries would show China in the largest font because it has the largest population.

(2) Data storage. A data cloud implies some type of storage system or storage network without getting into details. It may also refer to a network attached storage (NAS) device. See SAN and NAS. See also cloud.

The Enterprise Data Cloud platform is a software-based platform that enables enterprises to create and manage any number of data warehouses and data marts that can be deployed across a common pool of physical, virtual, or public cloud infrastructure.
And the purpose is to perform full-blown factory design and simulation (as well as other AEC-related tasks), so this ability to take in lots of information--from scanned data clouds to drawings to other CAD files--is rather important.
It also gives users an automatic connection to the Linked Data cloud and a global metadata transport layer that helps them tap next-generation search services, directories and social media applications.
