Davis, Alice Brown (1852–1935) Seminole leader; born near Park Hill in present-day Oklahoma. The co-owner of a trading post, she journeyed to Mexico (1890s) as an interpreter for Seminoles seeking a new home. In 1906 she became superintendent of the Seminole girls' school. After the loss of official tribal identity (1907), she often represented her people in court and served in many ways as a chief. How to thank TFD for its existence?
