Dawkins, Henry (active 1753–86) engraver; born in England. He emigrated to New York City (c. 1753), worked as an engraver, moved to Philadelphia (c. 1757), and returned to New York (1774). He is known for his early engravings, such as Pennsylvania Hospital (1761), and The Paxton Expedition (1764).
