Daylight harvesting

Daylight harvesting

Uses available daylight to reduce the amount of electrical light used in a room. Using a combination of windows, skylights, and an automatic control, electric lights are turned off when there is enough daylight to sufficiently light the room and turned on when the daylight levels are too low.

Copious daylight was available through the floor to ceiling exterior glazing, and daylight harvesting was implemented by sensors placed deep into the space, while the sun's glare was controlled by automatic window shades.
The variety of controls solutions include an optional Integrated Sensor Control System that offers occupancy detection and daylight harvesting, providing additional energy and installation savings, while complying with some mandated energy code requirements.
Dimming for applications such as daylight harvesting is available as an option.
Qlite designs and manufactures state-of-the-art guest room management systems, plug-in dimming controls, lighting control, home automation systems, daylight harvesting systems, sensors and wiring accessories.
Communicating wirelessly using EnOcean batteryless products conserves energy through self-powered switching, occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting and personal workspace control technologies.
Those include daylight harvesting, which adjusts interior light levels according to available daylight; occupancy controls to turn lights on and off automatically; smart-time scheduling to adjust light where occupancy sensors are not appropriate; task tuning to set default light levels to suit a particular workspace; personal software-based controls for individual occupants to adjust their workspace lighting by need or preference; and variable load shedding, which limits power demand peaks to reduce overall utility costs.
If you are building or remodeling, incorporate daylight harvesting practices from the beginning.
Chapters are in sections on switching to fluorescent systems, dimming fluorescent systems, daylight harvesting, controls for code compliance, and commissioning.
The two or three lamp option allows for A/V mode, while an integrated daylight harvesting system helps meet CHPS and LEED program standards and energy codes required by some schools.
Drawing on nearly 30 years of lighting control experience and regarded as one of the lighting industry's leading developers of groundbreaking technologies in lighting control panels, HID and fluorescent controls, and occupancy sensor controls, HBA produces a full line of daylight harvesting products for indoor, outdoor, and atrium applications.
They also enlarged the width of the rear window, eliminated the daylight sensors, and compensated for the loss of daylight harvesting by switching from fluorescent to LEDs and adding an additional 50 sq ft of PV panels.
Designed primarily as a resource for Boston's design community, the Experience Center features a variety of daylight harvesting, motorized shades, and shading and lighting control systems from industry-leading manufacturers, displayed in an operational office and classroom environment.
