ODF was approved as an OASIS Standard in May 2005 and was submitted by OASIS to the ISO/IEC JTC1 (International Organization for Standardization International Electrotechnical Commission's Joint Technical Committee) for further approval as a de jure standard.
This summit of technical experts in the various fields of EAI will explore how de facto and de jure standards such as object brokering, messaging and modeling can be brought to bear on the problem of building enterprise-wide, scalable application systems for today's heterogeneous enterprise.
The Internet is the first environment where formal de jure standards have become de facto standards as well.
