Refers to pixels with a color depth (bit depth) greater than 24 bits. For example, since modern HDTVs increasingly handle a greater color gamut, HDMI 1.3 added support for 30-, 36- and 48-bit RGB and YCrCb color depths. See pixel and HDMI.
