Delaherche, Félix Auguste (fālēks` ōgüst` dəläârsh`), 1857–1940, French potter. He is considered the greatest ceramist since Bernard Palissy. Working alone in the village of La Chapelle-aux-Pots, he made no duplicates, fired his kiln but once a year, and destroyed every piece with which he was dissatisfied. His works were of dark red stoneware with stylized ornamentation, roughened surfaces, and sparkling polychrome glazes. How to thank TFD for its existence?
