delta modulationA technique that is used to sample voice waves and convert them into digital code. Delta modulation typically samples the wave 32,000 times per second, but generates only one bit per sample. See PCM. delta modulation [′del·tə ‚mäj·ə′lā·shən] (electronics) A pulse-modulation technique in which a continuous signal is converted into a binary pulse pattern, for transmission through low-quality channels. Delta-sigma A/D converter: In this type of analog interface circuit, analog data is converted to a bit stream by oversampling then undergoes delta modulation, integration processing, and noise cancellation by means of filtering, and is converted to digital data. Instead of conventional pulse width modulation, Class-T employs multiple signal processing techniques, including adaptive/predicative processing, noise shaping, pre-distortion and sigma delta modulation. Instead of conventional pulse width modulation, Class-T(TM) employs multiple signal processing techniques, including adaptive/predicative processing, noise shaping, pre-distortion and sigma delta modulation. |
