Dermoid

 

(dermoid cyst), a developmental defect—a sacciform tumor whose wall is structurally similar to skin, containing glands (chiefly sebaceous) and hairs. The cavity is filled with a thick lardlike mass. The dermoid is a kind of teratoma. Treatment is surgical.
