Facilities: 125 campgrounds, dispersed camping, cabin rentals, day-use sites, trails, 8 wilderness areas, ski area. Activities: Camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, OHV riding, boating, rock hounding, wildlife viewing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, interpretive tours. Special Features: Alpine forests, volcanic remnants, dense evergreen forests, mountain lakes, caves, desert areas, and alpine meadows. Attractions include Lava Butte, Lava River Cave, the Upper Deschutes River Scenic Waterway, and Odell and Crescent Lakes, which straddle the Oregon Cascades.
