desktop manager

desktop manager
The part of a GUI that displays the desktop and icons, that allows programs to be launched from the icons and that allows files to be visually dragged and dropped (copied, deleted, etc.). The desktop manager combined with the window manager make up the GUI. The desktop manager is included with Windows and the Mac.
desktop manager - A user interface to system services, usually icon and menu based like the Macintosh Finder, enabling the user to run application programs and use a file system without directly using the command language of the operating system.

I should mention, that should you wipe the device entirely, instead of doing a reset, then you will have to use Blackberry Desktop Manager to reload the OS.
