Corrosion of brass in which both components of the alloy are dissolved and the copper is redeposited as a porous surface residue.

This alloy has a higher corrosion resistance than the base alloy, possesses satisfactory solderability and platability, and its graphite particles don't significantly affect dezincification resistance.
The facts of these claims have not been proven, and based upon our review, we find no basis for concluding that the possibility for any substantial premature dezincification exists.
