DNIS
(Dialed Number Identification Service) A service that enables a company to identify which telephone number was dialed. A PBX often receives calls on the same port that were dialed to different 800 or 900 numbers, and the DNIS data contains the dialed number so that the PBX can track the call.

VC2 comes with several critically important features, including dialed number identification service (DNIS), which allows the system to intelligently route calls based on the 800 number dialed.
For inbound calls, Automatic Number Identification, Dialed Number Identification Service and collected digits are used to select scripts as well as provide names and account information.
The D channel provides dialed number identification service (DNIS), automatic number identification (ANI), and allows the system to reject calls based on programmed parameters.
