Diane de France (dyän də fräNs), 1538–1619, duchess of Angoulême; illegitimate daughter of King Henry II of France. She was legitimized in 1547. She was married to François, eldest son of Constable Anne de Montmorency. She worked for the alliance of King Henry III with Henry of Navarre (King Henry IV) and exerted much influence during the reign of Henry IV.
