Four papers cover valve metal, silicon and ceramic oxides as dielectric films for passive and active electronic devices; superconformal film growth; transition metal macrocyles as electro-catalysts for dioxygen reduction; and multiscale modeling and design of electrochemical systems.
Pressing carefully on the dielectric film generates cracks as small as 300 nanometres, which are measured by electron microscopy.
LSI multi-level Cu interconnects are isolated by two kinds of dielectric film, such as the interlayer dielectric (ILD) films isolating the Cu lines themselves and the barrier dielectric films that directly cover the Cu lines to prevent diffusion of Cu atoms into the ILD films.
