DievsIn the pre-Christian Baltic religion, the sky god. Along with the goddess Laima, he determined the course of the world and human destiny. He was pictured as a Baltic king who lived on a farmstead in the heavens, occasionally descending to earth on horseback or in a chariot to serve as the protector of farmers and their crops.
