CCl2F2A nontoxic, nonflammable, colorless gas made from carbon tetrachloride; boiling point -30°C; used as a refrigerant and as a propellant in aerosols.

Recently, many of the conventional blowing agenrs such as monofluorotrichloromethane (R11) and difluorodichloromethane (R12) have been suspected to contribute to the depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer (11), (12).
EXPERIMENTS Experiments were conducted on a counter-rotating twin-screw extruder with difluorochloromethane and difluorodichloromethane used as blowing agents.
