Dikson
an urban-type settlement, the administrative center of Dikson Raion, Taimyr (Dolgan-Nenets) National Okrug, Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR. The settlement is located on Dikson Island and on the shore of Enisei Gulf of the Kara Sea. It is one of the important ports of the Northern Sea Route and is a refueling base of the maritime fleet. Dikson has an airport, a radio-meteorological center, a geophysical observatory, and a fish-processing factory. It is also the site of a museum of local lore and of monuments to N. A.
