Dimitrov, Mikhail Dafinkichev
Born Oct. 12, 1881, in the village of Chuprene, Vidin District; died Oct. 6, 1966, in Sofia. Bulgarian historian and philosopher; academician of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1946); People’s Scholar (1963). Member of the Bulgarian Communist Party from 1944 to his death. Dimitrov was a professor at the University of Sofia from 1946 to 1950 and vice president of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from 1947 to 1957. Dimitrov was a specialist in the history of the Bulgarian renaissance and investigated the lives and works of Kh. Botev and L. Karavelov.
