Dinaric Mountains

    0.01 sec.
Dinaric Mountains

a mountain range of the Dinaric Alps in Yugoslavia. Extends for about 100 km and reaches a maximum elevation of 1,913 m at Mount Triglav. The northern part consists of separate massifs; the central and southern parts are monolithic, with steep slopes and flat summits. The Dinaric mountains are composed primarily of limestone. Karsts are present; however, there are few surface springs. Oak and beech forests grow along the slopes, but the summits are treeless.
