distribution amplifier [‚dis·trə′byü·shən ′am·plə‚fī·ər]
(electronics)
A radio-frequency power amplifier used to feed television or radio signals to a number of receivers, as in an apartment house or a hotel.
(engineering acoustics)
An audio-frequency power amplifier used to feed a speech or music distribution system and having sufficiently low output impedance so changes in load do not appreciably affect the output voltage.
