Location: Southern Utah. Accessible by US 89; UT 12, 14, 18, and 24. Nearby cities/towns include Cedar City, Enterprise, Escalante, Panguitch, and Saint George.
Facilities: 4 visitor centers, 26 campgrounds, group camp, 5 picnic sites, trails.
Activities: Camping, hunting, fishing, canoeing, sailing, swimming, water-skiing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country and downhill skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, spelunking, OHV riding.
Special Features: Elevations ranging from 2,800 feet to 11,322 feet at Blue Bell Knoll on Boulder Mountain; Red Canyon, with red sandstone formations rivaling those of Bryce Canyon National Park (see entry in national parks section); Panguitch and Navajo lakes; and Powell Point, offering views of three states.

This spectacular route travels away from Bryce Canyon, through the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and over the forested Boulder Mountain and the Dixie National Forest, before winding down near the entrance to Capitol Reef.
