Dixon, (William) “Billy” (1850–1913) frontiersman, scout; born in Ohio County, W.Va. He was a government mule driver (1865–69) and a famous buffalo hunter and Indian fighter. After the desperate battle with Indians at Adobe Walls, Texas (1874), he and his four fellow survivors all received the Congressional Medal of Honor. How to thank TFD for its existence?
