a port in W Indonesia, in SE Sumatra on the Hari River. Pop.: 417 507 (2000)

Djambi 

(also Telanaipura), a city and port in Indonesia, in the southeastern part of Sumatra. Situated on the navigable Hari (or Djambi) River. Population, 113,000 (1961). It is one of the chief towns of an oil-producing region; pipelines link Djambi with an oil field and refinery in Palembang. Another important industry is the primary processing of rubber.
