Dodge, Mary Elizabeth (b. Mapes) (1831–1905) writer, editor; born in New York City. She was editor of the popular St. Nicholas Magazine for children, from its inception in 1873 to 1905, and wrote children's books, including the classic Hans Brinker, or the Silver Skates (1865).
