Location:Off the coast of Cape Haze, about 9 miles south of Englewood; accessible only by private boat.
Facilities:Beach, boat docks, restrooms, pavilions, nature trails.
Activities:Boating, canoeing/kayaking, saltwater fishing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, shelling, wildlife viewing, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Located between Knight Island and Little Gasparilla Island, Don Pedro is part of an extensive chain of barrier islands along the Gulf Coast of Florida. Boat docks are located on the bay side of the island, which is lined with mangroves, and the island's mile of white sand beach is on the Gulf side.
