Don Ruff
(Acerina acerina), a fish of the family Percidae. The Don ruff is up to 20 cm long and weighs up to 100 g. It inhabits the Dnestr, Iuzhnyi Bug, Dnieper, Don, and Severskii Donets rivers, as well as the lower course of the Kuban’ River. It spawns in April or May in sandy or rocky shallows.
