Donentaev, Sabit
Born 1894 in Aul No. 4 of the Aksu Volost (small rural district), Semipalatinsk Province (now in the Pavlodar Oblast, Kazakh SSR); died there May 23, 1933. Kazakh satirical poet and journalist. A participant in the struggle for the establishment of Soviet power in the auls, Donentaev worked as a newspaperman. He was first published in 1913. He is the author of the verse collection Everyday Trivia (1915). After the Revolution, Donentaev sang the praises of the Soviet people and denounced survivals of feudab’sm in Dawn of History, Freedom Has Come, and The Fruits of Ten Years. WORKSIzbrannoe.
