Doriot, Georges F. (Frederic) (1899–1987) management educator, venture capitalist; born in Paris, France. He came to the U.S.A. (1921) to attend Harvard Business School, where as a professor of industrial management (1926–66) he influenced several generations of top U.S. executives. He was founding president of the American Research & Development Corporation (ARD Investment) (1946–72), the first publicly traded venture capital company.
