Doyle, Sarah Elizabeth (1830–1922) feminist, educator; born in Providence, R.I. A 36-year Rhode Island high school teacher and principal, she helped found the coeducational Rhode Island School of Design (1877) and was instrumental in the mid-1890s in permanently funding Brown University's new Women's College.
