(Dr. Solomon's, a McAfee, Inc. solution, www.drsolomon.com) An early developer of computer virus detection, identification and disinfection tools, originally created for all major operating systems. Founded in 1984, Dr. Solomon's also developed solutions for network management, system administration and a helpdesk management system for support environments. In 1998, Network Associates purchased the company and marketed the software as Dr. Solomon's Virex, only for the Macintosh. See McAfee.
