Drashusov, Aleksandr Nikolaevich 

Born Apr. 5 (17), 1816, in Moscow; died there Dec. 2 (14), 1890. Russian astronomer.

Drashusov graduated from Moscow University in 1833 and taught there from 1840 to 1855. Under his supervision the Moscow Observatory was significantly expanded and equipped. Drashusov observed the positions of circumpolar stars on the meridian circle. In 1847 he determined the geographical positions of six cities in Vladimir Province.
