drawdown [′drȯ‚dau̇n]
(graphic arts) In inkmaking, a procedure for obtaining a rough estimation of a color shade in which a small sample of ink is placed on a piece of paper and spread with a spatula to yield a thin film of ink. (hydrology) The magnitude of the change in water surface level in a well, reservoir, or natural body of water resulting from the withdrawal of water. (petroleum engineering) The difference between the static and the flowing bottom-hole pressure. drawdown The distance by which the groundwater level is lowered as a result of pumping.
