Dreier, Mary Elisabeth (1875–1963) labor reformer, suffragist; born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Privately educated, she devoted her life to improving working conditions for women. President of the New York Women's Trade Union League (WTUL) (1906–14), she worked for National WTUL until its demise (1950). A vigorous political activist, she campaigned for suffrage, the Progressive Party, world peace, and nuclear disarmament.
