drizzle
very light rain, specifically consisting of droplets less than 0.5 mm in diameter drizzle [′drizĀ·əl] (meteorology) Very small, numerous, and uniformly dispersed water drops that may appear to float while following air currents; unlike fog droplets, drizzle falls to the ground; it usually falls from low stratus clouds and is frequently accompanied by low visibility and fog. Drizzle atmospheric precipitation in the form of very fine drops with diameters of less than 0.5 mm. Drizzle usually falls from stratus and stratocumulus clouds. The drops fall so slowly that they seem to be suspended in the air. The intensity of precipitation produced by drizzle is low: 0.05–0.25 mm per hr. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
