Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park

Location: Off I-64 27 miles north of Lewisburg.
Facilities: Picnic areas, shelters, hiking trails, museum, observation tower, historic site, playgrounds.
Activities: Hiking, living history demonstrations.
Special Features: On November 6, 1863, the last significant Civil War engagement in West Virginia occurred on this high mountain plateau overlooking Greenbrier Valley. Part of the battlefield is restored and marked for visitors, and a small museum contains Civil War artifacts.
