This is the same name as a region of the ancient Egyptian underworld known as the Duat.
Hudson named "Apo Duat," (3) after the name of a mountain range between the Kerayan plateau in East Kalimantan and the Kelabit plateau in Sarawak, erroneously written on maps of Borneo as "Apo Duat.
The implementation of DUAT i a positive step for the FAA," says Mark Van Time, a pilot himself and data-center manager for one of the three contractors, Jeppsen DataPlan (formerly Lockheed DataPlan), Los Gatos, Calif.
