Dukhan 

a city in western Qatar. Population, approximately 3,000. Dukhan is connected by highway with the ports of Umm Said and Doha. It is the administrative center of the central oil-producing region of the country; oil is channeled from there by pipeline to the port of Umm Said. Dukhan has a seawater purifying plant, a condenser, and two steam power plants.


Dukhan 

(from Arabic dukkan, shop), in the Caucasus and Near East, a tavern or small restaurant where wine is sold.
