Dulong-Petit law [də′lȯŋ pə′tē ‚lȯ]

(thermodynamics)

The law that the product of the specific heat per gram and the atomic weight of many solid elements at room temperature has almost the same value, about 6.3 calories (264 joules) per degree Celsius.
