Dumlupinar
a settlement in Western Anatolia, Turkey, near which on Aug. 30, 1922, the Turkish Army, under the command of Kemal Pasha (Atatürk), inflicted a decisive defeat on the Greek troops during the Greco-Turkish War of 1919-22. The battle of Dumlupmar marked the beginning of the victorious offensive of the Turkish troops, culminating the expulsion of the interventionists from Turkish territory.
