Dumont, Pierre Étienne Louis (pyĕr ātyĕn` lwē dümôN`), 1759–1829, Swiss jurist and political writer. Dumont knew Mirabeau well and wrote many of his speeches. His Souvenirs sur Mirabeau (1832) is a valuable record of the times. An important work of Dumont was his French edition (1802) of Jeremy Bentham's Introduction to the Principles of Morals and Legislation (1789). How to thank TFD for its existence?
