Indiana Dunes State Park


Location:7 miles north of Chesterton, along Lake Michigan, at the northern terminus of Highway 49.
Facilities:140 campsites (all with 50 amp electrical service), youth tent camping area, camp store, restrooms and showers, picnic areas with shelters, playgrounds, trails, nature center, swimming beach.
Activities:Camping, swimming, fishing (smelt only), hiking, cross-country skiing (no ski rental), interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park's unique environment includes sand dunes, a variety of desert plants, and 1,800 wooded acres, as well as 3 miles of shoreline along Lake Michigan.
