Dunlop, John Thomas (1914– ) economist, labor arbitrator; born in Placerville, Calif. His primary interests were labor markets, wage systems, and industrial organizations. His teaching career at Harvard University was temporarily interrupted by his service on the National War Labor Board (1943–54) and as U.S. secretary of labor (1975–76).
