Dust (fire)balls Although dust buildup is among the most serious and common fire and explosion hazards in a range of industries, little is known about how dust ignites or how dust explosions propagate, according to Ali Rangwala, assistant professor of fire protection engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
The citations are based on OSHA's determination that Ameriwood failed to protect workers from wood dust explosions by not providing spark detention/spark suppression systems in the factory's duct work.
Absorbing dust explosion flame and heat, the system is ideal for industrial plants with low pressure resistance and need for large venting areas.
