Dyer, Wayne W. (Walter) (1940–  ) counselor, educator, author; born in Detroit, Mich. He received the Ed.D. from Wayne State University (1966) and worked as a teacher, counselor, and therapist from 1967. In 1973 he published the first of three books on individual and group counseling, followed by the best-selling Your Erroneous Zones: Bold But Simple Techniques for Eliminating Unhealthy Behavior Patterns (1976).
